Granite is a natural rock which happens to be present in our everyday lives at every step. Just think of the streets you walk on every day, surely some of their parts must be made of granite. Look down and see granite pavements, curbs or granite slabs making the flower beds. Than when you enter buildings there is granite as well. Office or bank buildings may have granite cladding or flooring. Even your personal life can be surrounded by granite – just think of granite worktops in your bathroom or a kitchen countertop, or maybe there are outdoor granite stairs? Granite is so ever present because of its properties. Granite as a natural rock is very durable and can withstand number of harmful factors. Severe weather conditions can do no damage to granite pavements, tombstones or other structures. Heavy rain, snow or temperature fluctuations aren’t harmful to granite. The same goes with harmful factors that you can find in our houses or flats. Just think of kitchen environment, there are liquids splashing and spilling all over, there are hot and boiling pans heavily landing on the countertop or floor and there is bacteria. No worries, granite is resistant to them all.
Granite quarrying process

The deposits are rather rich and there isn’t any immediate danger of granite deposits running out and leaving us sad and helpless. What are the processes that stand beyond granite extraction and quarrying? After granite deposits are found and confirmed granite quarrying starts. Usually granite is extracted by combined methods of drilling, blasting and sawing with the use of diamond blades. Diamond saw extract large blocks of granite from the quarrying site. Then these huge granite blocks are transported to local granite storage sites for further processing. At this local sites granite block are cut into smaller slabs and then polished and prepared to be transported.
